Handmade curtains can create an amazing focal point in any room.
Choose from a number of different heading styles to complete a bespoke look in your home.
Students will create a large sample size curtain (1 metre) and will be taught various hand stitching techniques to finish the item.
Various Track and Pole systems are available in the workshop in order to experience a variety of curtain projects during the course. Discussion and demonstration on measuring and estimating for fabric, including patterns will be given by the tutor with a variety of window types and scenarios discussed.
Linings and interlinings are explained and used for the sample pieces. During the three days students will generate a portfolio of images and comprehensive notes to take away with references to suppliers of soft furnishing fabrics and sundries.
Throughout the course there will be practical demonstrations and group teaching, all interactive with the aim to address all your questions and make it a fulfilling experience.
The workshop is a fully equipped working space with large cutting tables designed to give the best student experience.
You can bring your own fabric or we can supply a suitable piece for you.
