From Kim Dixon a recent upholstery student - I've really enjoyed the course and would recommend it to others. Thanks to you and Matthew I've achieved what I wanted, which was to make a headboard and recover the chair. The other projects have been a bonus. To be honest, I had absolutely no idea what to expect when I booked. I wondered whether it would be quite formal with everyone being instructed on various upholstery techniques before being allowed to get on with their projects, but it hasn't been like that. The informal relaxed style with the occasional interruption to see what the other ladies are doing has been just right. Matthew has been fantastic. Not only is he an expert in his field but he's so patient! It's also been incredibly helpful to be able to order materials through you.
"I learned so much from Maggi!"
"I completed the three-day headed & lined curtain course with Maggi which I learned so much from.
Maggi's knowledge is second to none and the course is supported with handouts that are designed for you to put together your own portfolio for future reference. With a keen interest in all things upholstery and soft furnishing this has given me the confidence to take on curtain commissions. I learned several new stitches and a variety of heading options and the attention to detail on the finished sample curtain is something to be really proud."
"I was so impressed with Maggi's teaching!"
I met Maggi when she taught the soft furnishings module on my AMUSF upholstery course, I was impressed with her teaching, so I enrolled on her private curtain and roman blind classes.
Maggi is a great teacher, fun, happy to explain things, and with a wealth of experience - in fact, I picked up some invaluable tips in her classes which have ironed out many little niggles that I've had for years.
"Maggi has opened up the mysteries of the sewing machine."
Maggi is a fantastic teacher. She is cheerful, enthusiastic and a real mine of information. I had no real knowledge and only basic sewing skills when I started the course, but Maggi has opened up the mysteries of the sewing machine and the hidden depths and craft of curtain making. She has both inspired and encouraged – I love my classes with Maggi.

"love learning soft furnishings with Maggi."
She is generous in sharing her wealth of knowledge, encouraging in her teaching and hilarious in her delivery. I only wish I could be in her workshop more!

"I now am quite confident about how it works and have already started my first project."
I thoroughly enjoyed the sewing machine course, my new sewing machine had sat unused for 2 years in the cupboard but I now am quite confident about how it works and have already started my first project. Thank you for your guidance.
I have also already gone out and bought various needles and a piping foot etc in readiness for the cushion cover course. Looking forward to learning new skills.
